Two gray foxes will join the Museum’s menagerie of live native Ohio animals in the all-new "Ralph Perkins II Wildlife Center & Woods Garden — Presented by KeyBank," opening Labor Day weekend 2016. Gray foxes are one of the only canines that can climb trees—a fact that inspired the young foxes’ names. Buckeye and Ash were born in captivity and hand-raised in Minnesota. The pair have been bonding with their caregivers and getting familiar with their new home since July.

A time-lapse showing Cleveland Museum of Natural History exhibit specialists, in collaboration with Research Casting International, dismantling a mammoth skeleton in Kirtland Hall of Prehistoric Life.

Several of the Museum’s skeletal mounts, skulls and fossils are being removed as part of its Centennial Transformation Project. The specimens are being moved to protect them from vibration caused by construction of a new nearby parking structure.

While off display, many of these specimens will be cleaned and conserved for re-installation in amazing new galleries that are the cornerstone of the exciting #CMNH100 transformation.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History researchers discuss their analysis of dinosaur fossil footprints. Their findings reveal how sauropod dinosaurs used their claws. The researchers co-authored a chapter in the book "Dinosaur Tracks: The Next Steps," published by Indiana University Press.

Harvey Webster, Chief Wildlife Officer hosts "Creature Feature," a web series about the live #CMNHwildlife ambassadors that call the Museum home. In this episode of "Creature Feature,' we learn about the groundhog, also known as the whistlepig or the woodchuck. These large rodents hibernate every winter, & humans celebrate their emergence on Groundhog Day, where folklore states that if the groundhog sees its shadow and returns to its burrow, there will be 6 more weeks of winter.

Dr. Michael Ryan of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History discusses a new ostrich-mimic dinosaur described from a fossil collected in Alberta more than 80 years ago. The Late Cretaceous dinosaur, named Rativates evadens, resembled a modern ostrich.
